Lawyer and pro-Beijing politician Junius Ho can be certified as a solicitor in England & Wales

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has introduced that it’s pursuing skilled misconduct allegations towards a pro-Beijing legislator, Junius Kwan-yiu Ho, who’s certified as a solicitor in England and Wales.

The costs relate to feedback the 58-year-old allegedly made through the course of a public assembly in addition to posts made on Fb. The SRA’s resolution to prosecute signifies that Ho, a member of Hong Kong’s Legislative Council, now faces a listening to earlier than the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.

The SRA said: “On or about 17 September 2017, through the course of a public assembly which he had been a celebration to organising, and at which he was a speaker, Mr Ho made remarks, directed to all attendees, which supported and strengthened feedback made by one other individual which he knew… on an inexpensive interpretation, carried a that means to the impact that political opponents to the difficulty underneath dialogue ought to be killed…”

The regulator added that the remarks “had been able to being perceived as inciting violence towards opponents” and/or “had been able to inflicting offence”.

It harassed that the allegations are as but unproven. Ho has been approached for remark.

Ho is a senior associate at native agency Okay.C. Ho & Fong however can be certified in England and Wales. He studied regulation on the Chelmer Institute of Larger Training, now a part of Anglia Ruskin College, and was awarded an honorary diploma in 2011 after being elected president of the Legislation Society of Hong Kong.

But Anglia Ruskin stripped him of the gong last year, saying that “Mr Ho’s conduct since he was honoured has prompted rising concern”.
